About

Maija Zarins is a Printmaker and Secondary Teacher of Art, living and working in Berlin. She graduated from Fine Art Printmaking, and PGCE Secondary Education, Art and Design at Brighton University and has since worked as both an artist and educator in the UK and in Germany.

Maija's artwork revolves around the themes of foraged organic forms, traditional Baltic patterns, and symbolic references to folk stories from the Baltic or Germanic regions.

All prints are drawn, created, and hand printed by the artist in her cellar print studio on equipment which she hand-built using recycled and found objects.
